The Matcha Lab began when I realised I owned a coffee shop but didn’t even like coffee. Searching for something that felt authentic to me, I discovered matcha — and quickly became obsessed. I dove deep into cultivars, regions, and traditional techniques, determined to find a product worth sharing.
Through it all, Tokyo — my Shiba Inu and muse — was by my side, reminding me to slow down and stay intentional. Together, we created The Matcha Lab: a brand born from curiosity, craft, and a love for everyday rituals.
Our matcha comes directly from Yame, Japan, one of the country’s most respected tea regions. We chose a blend of Yabukita and Saemidori cultivars because it reflects the balance we value: depth and sweetness, tradition and refinement.
Shade-grown, hand-picked, and stone-ground in small batches, our matcha honours centuries of craftsmanship. Every product we offer is clean, intentional, and shaped by the farmers who bring this incredible tea to life.
Our vision is to make authentic Japanese matcha part of modern, mindful living. We want every cup to feel like a moment — a reset, a breath, a quiet space inside a busy world.
